My Tai Chi corner
Have you learnt a new skill in lockdown?
Well, I have taken up Tai Chi, courtesy of some excellent videos on YouTube. Now with the hot weather I have extended my new practice to the outdoors on this ying yang mosaic M built some fifteen years ago.
Tai Chi, an ancient Chinese martial art from the 13th century, is now used worldwide as a gentle exercise for all ages. I find it very soothing and relaxing, quite unlike any other form of workouts I have tried and a welcome relief from all my hip and knee routines with their endless repetitions.
No wonder it’s claimed to boost the immune system
It would be good to know if other Blippers have discovered new interests in lockdown. I keep hearing reports of folk studying languages through an app, others having piano lessons on zoom and half the population seems to have taken to bread making. As for the arts and crafts they seem to be burgeoning boosted by Grayson Perry’s excellent weekly television programme.
