Eagle Rock

Early doors before the sun was too high I headed out for a run to Dalmeny. At one point I was running along the water’s edge on the sand. I stopped to chat to this woman pack rafter who had just finished strapping her deconstructed bike to the boat. She was looking forward to getting onto the water for the first time since lockdown began.

The soft sandstone in this outcrop is carved with the shape of an eagle allegedly by a Roman from the fort at Cramond. Nice story, less than believable.
