High cirrus (Day 1850)

Breezy today, but a beautiful sunny day. Warm enough to be out in t shirts.
The day started off with a trip through to Stromness to move a caravan from the yard to the horse's field. It is a handy mobile shed. A trip back to the yard with a trailer full of poop, and back to the field to sort out the stuff in the caravan.
Home for lunch, then a wander at Lyde where I found it difficult to take my eyes off the fabulous high cirrus above us. We dropped the dogs at home then headed out to Stromness for a ride out. I was on George and my beautiful wife took Bessie out. Good to be out again, and we stopped and spoke to Michael along the shore. He complimented me on the improvements I have made in my riding.
Back towards the field and a canter turned into a bit of a gallop as George tried to keep up with Jeepers as he galloped along the fence line. I brought him in check fairly quickly but his high head carriage hinted he was ready to explode. Which he did shortly afterwards when a digger moving muck startled him. I stayed calm, and (somewhat surprisingly) didn't fall off. George felt huge under me, and there was a real sense of huge power there. Exhilarating more than terrifying.
A damned good day.
