Soul Singer

I have shown Carol on blip before. She is the amazing driving force behind Transforming Choice, an inspirational organisation that provides a residential detox and rehabilitation service for people addicted to alcohol. They have developed a non-medical model that places a central role on peer mentors who have themselves been through the programme. Lockdown was introduced just after the last cohort began their programme. This made for a particularly hard time, with no outside visits or contact with family members. It was not only the group who were isolated in their building, but also the peer mentors- 10 of whom lived in the upper floor throughout the programme.
Today was graduation day. Again, very different with no families to friends, but still a very emotional day. And Carol sung a brilliant song that she had written, whilst dreaming of a soul band to accompany her. One day.
