Steamy glasses

Braved my first "sort-of" big shop at asda at lunch time. The queue to get in moved steadily and i masked up (thanks Mum) as i went in. I didn't feel weird wearing it, probably because others were wearing masks too. Only about 15% though, all of them aged over 65 with no younger folk wearing them which is a shame. Hopefully they wont feel self conscious and will start wearing them soon. It's to protect others -the shop workers, the vulnerable out shopping - not the wearer so I'm hoping that the "kindness, love and respect" message as part of the wider easement guidance from the Scottish government will really take hold in Scotland, unlike the pointless stay alert message South of the border. My glasses did steam up, but it wasnae too bad, over excitement at seeing a full display of chocolate biscuits no doubt.

Today, the first easement of lockdown measures were introduced in Scotland, so the kids and i headed to mum and dad's garden for an hour after work for a visit. We took our own juice and stayed well apart. We talked gardens, birds nesting, dogs, springwatch, a little bit of politics, the afternoon tea they'd had delivered from Lucy and Cheryl and the lovely weather. I hope people respect these gentle steps and meet outdoors in gardens and parks rather than start going into each others houses.
