Very strange

The limestone granary stones were covered in lichen last year but the long spell of hot weather seems to have dried them out and left this fossilised effect.  Or is it that the prolonged winter rains has caused them to absorb the lime like the items suspended in Mother Shipton's cave?   Very strange.
