I tried to take a picture from the railings, but there is now a large hedge in front ( and I’m too short to see over it!).

Interesting to see that the Chiseldon Windmill is in the original picture, but you can still see the trees to the left hand side.

Another instalment from this year's feature on places of worship which should have been on display in the museum, (hopefully we will open again one day!) This time it's the museum building itself. Originally built as twin Chapels of Rest in 1877 in the newly created cemetery in Butts Road. The land was given by W.E.N. Brown of Chiseldon House, a major land owner in the area. The Brown family also built the windmill - the remains of which can be seen in this picture which dates from about 1910. One chapel was for Church of England parishioners, the other for Nonconformists. Today the Parish Office occupies the right hand half of the building.
