Space!

We haven't been down the Ards Peninsula since before lockdown, so today we thought we'd have a little trip! This is the beach at Ballywalter, at low tide. We were surprised last summer that the beaches of the peninsula were so quiet, even at the height of the school holidays, and they have become some of our favourite places. It was fabulous this morning to be able to walk again on the beach at Ballywalter.
We had decided that we would have an early supper this evening, then while everyone was at home having their supper, we would go for a walk at Ballymorran. It was a great idea - but unfortunately, not as great as we had hoped! There's not a lot of parking available, and when we got there, there were cars everywhere and lots of people! The tide was high and there were lots of people wild swimming in the Lough! Those people who were in the water were social distancing, but those on the shore definitely weren't! We've been going for a walk there over the past few weeks and have seen very few people, we couldn't believe how many people were there today.
