Beach Silhouettes
H and I went for a lovely walk on the beach at low tide from Sheringham towards Weybourne and back. There was lovely sparkling sun on the water and I liked the silhouettes you could get. I've included an Extra of some unusual patterns in the sand. More IT stuff this morning, clearing some space on my pc and transferring photos on my iPhone to my pc with a nifty storage device I've bought with 4 different ports.
Day 74 / Day 66 of Lockdown / Day 16 of Step 1 (for my record only)
UK deaths up 377 to 37,837. It was stressed that although numbers are improving, there are still c54,000 new cases per week according to population sampling, with only 6.78% of the population thought to have had the virus. The R rate is 0.7 - 0.9.
Boris led the briefing and outlined how the 5 tests for easing lockdown are being met. As well as announcements already made on schools and Retail, he said that from Monday in England up to 6 people can meet provided it's outside and 2m social distancing between people from different households is maintained. Private gardens are now included. We are asked not to meet too many people from different households in quick succession. We cannot meet inside homes and shielding is to continue. Good news is that dentists are to re-open from 8th June. Police say that DC might have broken lockdown rules in going to Barnard Castle, but no action to be taken as it was a minor breach. Press questions to the CMO and CSA that were blatantly political were quite rightly blocked by the PM, an action endorsed by those two advisers.
