Close as I want to get

This is as close as I want to get as this is probably one of the only insects I am scared off.

Found this dead on the road today but what got me is the length of the stinger it's got as it is pretty long and and too be honest looks like a Hornet as the wasp itself was bigger than a normal wasp I think. What do you all think????

Still in a lot of pain again today so I haven't really been out apart from a short walk with my girls.
