The New Church

A late afternoon walk round the block via the old tower from where you can look down to the "new" church built in the valley in 1887. The Old Tower has been entered for wide angle Wednesday before.. Now you get a pretty view of the new church from the top of the hill. Thanks to RockAcre for hosting with the theme of Looking Down.

Its son M's birthday today, really sad we could not be with him on his birthday. Last year we met him in Orkney.  This year we were planning to visit where he lives in Norway . A WhatsApp family video birthday chat had to suffice.

Hooray, our cleaner decided it's safe to come back to work. She was amazed the place is so tidy , we've done a lot of sorting out since she was here last

Despite the netting and copper slug deterrents,  plantlets are still going missing. We think pigeons are in league with the pheasant. We'll have to put a top on the netting. The lambs are angry that I've put some netting on the fence by the plants they have been munching through the fence.

Day 68
412 deaths up to 37,460. Test Track and Trace is finally launched but without the phone app which is still undergoing testing on the Isle of Wight.  We start with the human version which we were using in January and maybe February until cases became too many to manage. Boris was interrogated by MPs for 90 minutes but I couldn't bear to watch it. Pleased to see that Cumbria as a county has dropped right down the "league tables"  of cases per head of population, its now 9th . Back at the beginning of April it was second only to London. Now the North East has a worse problem than us.
