Golden

A glorious day today, with lots of sunshine. So it felt right to blip the golden rain of the Laburnum in the sunlight.

It also links with a Hay Festival film I watched this afternoon - Jackie Morris painting. Jackie Morris is the artist who painted the wonderful pictures for the book The Lost Words (see extra for a reminder). In this film we watched her create in watercolour - a hare. Spellbinding - every brush stroke, every detail. Having seen the actual paintings that were used for the book, I had wondered how she painted the backgrounds, now I know. I wondered how she did the gilding, now I know that too. A gem of a film.
