Damsel fly
Another beautiful day so M and l decided to head to the countryside for one of our favourite walks. We drove to Hertfordshire, about 40 minutes from our house and parked the car by a ford (dry) to start the walk. As we crossed the little foot bridge l looked down into the water and there to my delight saw a brilliant flash of blue/green on a twig just above the water. Here was my blip, a common damsel fly, but what a beauty.
The walk through the country side was pleasant and back along a disused rail line with trees on either side giving dappled shade. I picked some elderflower heads to make elder flower cordial, my task for the afternoon.
I finally have my car back after 7 days. I am feeling quite poor!
