The Interlopers

Our garden is fairly large and had a long fence abutting our neighbours' garden. They are particularly keen gardeners and have a flourishing and well kept garden. Unfortunately we do not get to see it as the fence is too high to look over. I guess the 'up' side to this is that we have total privacy ourselves and can sit on our patio without being disturbed. Part of the fence was blown down in high winds a few years ago and we decided to reconstruct it with gaps between the fence slats to reduce the force of the wind. This has enabled parts of our neighbours garden to intrude into ours. Here are some random shots  of where the interlopers have breached our defences. As you can see in the case of the cotoneaster we may have welcomed them with open arms as it helps to breakdown the not particularly attractive monochrome colour of our fence. There are other breaches over the top of the fence which we are very grateful for. An apple tree whose main crop seems to lie on our side of the fence, a plum tree (though we have not any fruit for a few years) and a massive fuchsia bush which has somehow managed to scale the heights of this substantial barrier.
