Day 64 My colourful favourite place
I had thought of putting in an entry for this week's Mono Monday theme of My Favourite Place but the garden was so colourful today that I had to choose not only colour but also a collage, of which I seemed to have blipped rather a lot recently. On a very warm and sunny day, the bees were hard at work on all the flowers that they favour as were the hoverflies. Also spotted was a red damselfly and a very tiny snail clinging on to a flag iris in the pond. The clematis is coming into bloom and is going to be splendid this year.
Another day of childcare but no homeschooling as it is half term. There is no word from Violet's primary school so any sort of return next week is looking increasingly unlikely. I've not been keen on such little ones returning so quickly so few weeks delay would suit.
In other news: the Dominic Cummings story refuses to go away. In fact he decided to face the press and public from the grounds of 10 Downing Street, firstly giving a detailing account of visit to Durham and then taking questions from the press. Generally it's fury all round, although I suspect that at the heart of it is a hatred for the fact that this man has sufficient wealth to up sticks and go to a spare cottage in the grounds of the family farm, whilst so many have so little. That and the fact that he chose to 'interpret' the lockdown rules whilst most of us were blindly trying to follow them to the letter.
Meanwhile, we've been told that lots of businesses can open shortly, including car show rooms, but no word on easing rules on seeing family and friends. Hmm, that will not be universally popular.
