Bank Holiday Family Day Out

This family of swans were spotted at a local beauty spot today. Apparently, the parents have been self isolating at a secluded location some 30 minutes away, while concerned for their own health, and the welfare of their young brood. It seems that they had been subject to harassment from various predatory animals at their normal habitat.The father, it appears, was worried that his eyesight had been affected by the stress of the whole situation so was taking the family out for a test swim today to check that he was OK to take them on a longer expedition tomorrow. Sounds a bit of a tall story to me.

We spotted them while out on the bikes at Ham Wall nature reserve this morning. This afternoon was spent in the garden planting out the various things we bought on Saturday.
