Looking for the beauty

Day 65 Eid al-Fitr

A busy morning today as I cut Dan's hair, made a pork dinner, went on the exercise bike and sewed most of my knitted dog. I couldn't finish as I don't have any black wool for the eyes but he looks cute. Michelle came for lunch, eating in the garden at the opposite end of the table to Dan. She made a beautiful Milky Bar cheesecake for pudding that she had transported over in a washing up bowl! While sitting in the garden, they spotted a little blue tit on the fence. It was a baby bird and its parents kept coming back to feed it but it looked too small and weak to fly. I don't know how it got there or where it went as it had gone when I checked on it later.
After lunch they went for an 18km walk and saw Dad by the river. We tried to use public footpaths to make our way to Copthorne but the signposting was dreadful and we went the wrong way about 3 times. It was a hot afternoon and in the end we gave up and headed home. We now know the proper footpath from Mousecroft so if we try again the first part will be much quicker.
In the news, there were 118 deaths. Eid started last night and is continuing today. Boris confirmed that schools are returning on 1st June but most of the news was overshadowed by Boris trying to say that Dominic Cummings, his adviser, had not broken any lockdown laws by travelling over 200 miles with coronavirus symptoms. A lot of people are understandably extremely cross that he has done this and that Boris is defending him.
