Shoes of the Muses

Every year, members of the all-female Krewe of Muses, a Carnival organization in New Orleans, throws decorated shoes from their floats.
For weeks ahead of the parade members get together in small groups around the city to decorate the shoes, mostly using paint, glitter, feathers and lots of glue.
Here are a few of the shoes that will be thrown in next week's parade.
