This old oak probably won’t survive as there are very few roots still attached to any soil. I suppose the wet winter followed by two months of drought played havoc with the root structure.

I caught the end of the wind storm on the canal - missed my target time by a few seconds as it was too hard a slog against the head wind on the return leg. At least it gives me something to keep aiming at, and the forecast is improving.
