Under the Spotlight

More local exploration today for our family Lockdown trio, with a 7-mile walk and picnic thrown in. Lovely walk, even though a nice pub and a pint would have finished it off even more perfectly afterwards.

Particularly loved this landscape view looking south towards the wooded River Dane, east of Holmes Chapel - with these 5 isolated trees ‘spotlighted’ within farmland pasture. We are just watching BBCs Gentleman Jack for the first time, and the unspoilt period landscapes of Halifax on that look just the same as this.

This particular part of our own circular walk was on the Dane Valley Way, the long distance footpath that runs from Buxton to the confluence of the Rivers Dane and the Weaver at Northwich.
