15 years in the making!

About 15 years ago, I was in the middle of a really difficult time in my life. Undiagnosed health problems had meant life was on hold, I couldn't study and I couldn't work. On a whim, I picked up a Willow Fairy cross stitch kit to try and keep me busy and distracted from what I was going through. Over the further 5 years it took to get a diagnosis, I worked on her on and off, then she sat in a drawer. Over the years since, she has been out occasionally, she's travelled the world with me just in case I found quiet time on our always full holidays. Last year I started on the back stitching. The last couple of days have seen her picked up with new determination.

The last stitches have just gone in. I contemplated leaving a couple of stitches unfinished as she represents so much that cannot even begin to be put in to words. I though I'd finish her when that chapter of my life was closed. Then I realised, that whilst there is still a lot of healing ahead, that is a new chapter, the chapter this little lady represents is done. And now so is she!
