Never ask the same question twice.
Hi Everyone,
Gardening News:
Nothing done yesterday or today… As I look out of the window of my home office it is raining as I write this. I will get back on it tomorrow or Monday.
Lathe News:
Three more parts arrived yesterday, two were good and one average, the average one will get me going and I will look to upgrade when a genuine part becomes available at a reasonable price. I also started the restoration by dismantling the tailstock. It had a dead center stuck in the spindle which I managed to get out. I think I proved to myself this is not a task to undertake without the correct tools, so the restoration is back on pause for the moment.
I have been watching quite a lot of engineering videos on YouTube over the last 6 months which sparked the desire to purchase the lathe and get back to my tools. I have made a list of tools/jigs to make myself once I get up and running and some vintage ones that I never knew existed but would be especially useful.
The Photo:
I was in the loft looking for something and came across this old A6 ring binder that had all sorts of handwritten notes from the early 90’s when I was programming in COBOL. I was winging it a bit so worked on the principle that it was okay to ask a question but never ask the same question twice, which was why I wrote notes on everything, no matter how basic. It was interesting reading the various notes… This one was how to run the two COBOL compilers I used.
Nothing else to report.
Stay happy, strong, and healthy… more tomorrow.
