Day 61 It must be Flower Friday!
The weather was not so nice today, a very strong breeze, although it remained warm. We didn't have much chance this morning of going outside anyway, as we had our Zoom meeting with our accountant and Mr MC's former business partner. In the end it went on for two hours, not entirely because there was that much to discuss, but rather our accountant, who admits to not being very tech savvy, had some difficulty in connecting with us. He was using his phone and in the end Mr MC had to phone him and keep the call going on loudspeaker so that we could hear him fairly clearly and Mr MC's business partner not very well at all! If virtual meetings are going to become the the normal, our accountant will need to get up to speed.
Late this afternoon Mr MC and I decided to venture out for our weekly shop before the Bank Holiday weekend (if it has any significance anymore?). I had felt comfortable popping into our nearest Sainsbury's last Sunday, when there was no queue, but not so today. The queue snaked a considerable way around the car park and so we decided Waitrose (our nearest supermarket ) it was. The queue was reasonable and I do know the store very well, but oh my, social distancing does not seem to be high on the agenda of either shoppers or staff! Too many customers wandering about looking at their phones and not caring how near they get to you. Too many staff, restocking the shelves from cages almost filling the not very wide aisles and the lady who came to our self scan check out machine because we had bought alcohol, just walked in between us inches away.
I did manage to buy flowers, these lovely bright tulips. They look beautiful now and will provide photo opportunities as they pass through their various life stages. Many thanks as always to BikerBear for her continued hosting. Follow my link to see her own beautiful blue offering.
