Happy Days

We took a late afternoon drive down Chagrin River Road, because I wanted to blip this horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) tree that I've admired for decades.  It stands along CRR before the southern most entrance to North Chagrin Reservation. The first extra shows a closer view of the beautiful blooms. The top was cut off in haste, as I had to be extremely careful blipping from a ditch off the road where cars were whizzing past.

For us there is no place on Earth as beloved as North Chagrin Reservation other than our home.  We went to Sunset Pond, then to visit the owls, and saw trees and wildflowers bursting out, waterfowl, a variety of small birds, and the largest great blue heron either of us can recall.  (Extra #2).  I have several closeups of this tall majestic heron but am saving my extras for now.

It did our hearts a world of good to be there.

Thanks to Anni/BikerBear for hosting and to you for visiting.  Wishing everyone a fun and safe holiday weekend.  X
