Hostas

The old "spray water on the leaves" trick to give a bit more interest to this last-minute blip. The best hostas Susan has ever had (so far) as the dry weather has deterred attacks by slugs.

For the first day since lockdown started we haven't been for a walk! Did Joe Wicks first thing which was one of the more demanding sessions. Then pretty much pottered, stringing up tomatoes and pinching out multitudes of side shoots. More pottering this afternoon which included eventually making a decision to buy a new laptop, sorting out my recipe folder, ukulele music folder and Rock Choir resources as well as replacing the water filter having found where I'd put the spares!

There have been developments in the skylark saga story which I'll fill you in about when there have been some definite outcomes.

Some sad news too, that my first mother-in-law, also called Doreen, and Gran to my two boys died this morning aged well into her 90s. She'd been ill since Christmas and had been in hospital for the last couple of weeks. She was waiting to be discharged and simply slipped away. I don't think anyone knew her real age but it must be at least 94. Her husband died last year aged 98. Although I didn't see much of her in recent years I have good memories of her from earlier times.
