The first (of many, I hope) borlotti plants emerges.

In other news I have decided to re-learn LaTeX - have to unlearn a lot of unnecessary and misleading stuff I accumulated along the way.  And then, (drum-roll) statistics. (Makes a change from ancient Greek...)
