Rain outside, flowers inside

The terrible weather conditions today thwarted my plans for a good walk.
Heavy rain and strong gusting wind make walking rather unpleasant. I did manage one circuit of the Heritage Park but by the time I got back to the car my trousers were soaked.

It certainly wasn't weather for a garden blip. These flowers arrived by post in a flat pack cardboard box. When I took them out they did look quite sad but what a difference after trimming and bashing the stems, and then putting them in a vase of fresh water where they have been for nearly two weeks.
