A Flock of Red Kites

Another good day!  Morning spent working on the house; still finding jobs to do.

Went to Ardington for a late afternoon walk.  Took a different route behind Ardington House and came across an amazing sight.  The farmer was cutting the long grass in one field, and leaving it to dry (presumably for silage.)  

Behind the farmer was a flock of at least 20 red kite.  Some were hovering high over the cut grass, others were following the tractor; all waiting for the sight of some prey.  I have never seen so many in one place.  And there was a clutch of pheasants hiding in the next field, watching!
