Wall Barley
Also know in some parts of the UK as "Bus Stop Grass".
Wall (or Wild) Barley is seen as an enemy worthy of attack by chemicals or strimming by many local authorities. In part, I suspect, because it readily propagates itself.
There are several patches on my regular walking route; this is the largest 'clump' which so far hasn't been attacked by either council or the adjacent landowner.
