Western Grebe

We met at the park at 10:30 for Becky's birthday picnic.  I think our early start enabled us to get a secluded table right on the lake shore.  We wouldn't be worried about getting close to her but her husband works on different job sites so it's a concern that he could be bringing home germs.  So, we did air hugs and kept our masks on except when we were eating.  My first extra shows our party table and I asked her to take off her mask for the second one.

There was a lot of activity on the lake with kayaks and paddle boards and kids playing in the not very clean water.  There were also a fishing Bald Eagle (when my camera wasn't handy), several White Pelicans and the grebe in my main blip.  He was very entertaining as we watched him dive and tried to guess where he would pop up.  We never got it right!  

I am grateful that we got to spend Becky's birthday with her.  We haven't missed one in 41 years! :-))
