Here is youngest practicing the Srauss piece he has picked as his GCSE music project.

I was surprised that he is planning on performing his solo on the flugel horn purely based on his new love for all things guitar.

Grade 4 in flugel, April and has just passed grade 5 music theory.

A talented young man who announced to me at the weekend that he's planning to study for a degree in geography and then join the peace corps. His reasoning: ' Look at me mum, I have nice clothes, warmth, food everything I could need and yet I could just have easily been born into severe poverty. I'm so lucky, I feel the need to make a difference and put my mark on the world' :)

My eldest is studying for a degree in Chemistry and in the holidays he works for a residential care home, he's been there since he was 16. A tough job which he finds so rewarding. He also volunteers to help kids/adults with physical and mental disabilities enjoy sports.

My sons do me proud. They are brilliant and amaze me every day.
