Low Tide

I met H for a walk on West Runton Beach mid-morning.  Rain and thunder had been forecast for this afternoon and there were a few spots of rain when we arrived but happily they didn't amount to anything.  Although we definitely need some rain for the garden.
We had a super walk along the sand with loads of space to chat whilst keeping the regulated 2 metres apart.  The cafe was selling ice cream which rounded off the walk perfectly (and the loos were open...hurrah!) but it was relatively quiet, I think the weather forecast had discouraged too many folk from risking a day out.
There was still some sea foam around.  Apparently, sea foam is caused by the agitation of sea water when it contains higher levels of organic matter (such as when there are areas of algal blooms offshore) and as it gets washed to the shore the action of the surf breaks it down and causes it to make foam.  I've often wondered!
