Brimstone #6
Another little drive out today, this time to the Eastern end of Moore Nature Reserve. Again the reserve car park is closed but my brother lives at the opposite end to the car park so we parked there and just had a short walk around the Eastern reedbed loop. It was very warm and long enough for us in the sun.
There were more butterflies around than we have seen this season - whites, speckled woods, common blues, peacocks and this single brimstone which was very obliging and hopped onto some red campion flowers. Brimstones are not a species of butterfly that I have seen a lot of at all so this was so nice to see. In extras, a young Jay was sunning itself ahead of us on the path.
Back home for the afternoon and we just chilled in the garden for a while, listened to the birds and watched the starlings feeding their young.
This weather is most welcome :)
