Round the back

I came across this structure through an alley off the main shopping street, an old curved stone wall surrounded by a mish mash of modern additions and messed up with barbed wire. It makes you wonder what the building originally looked like, what it was used for and why build it like this? It's now so out of place, a quiet bit of hidden history.
