Eleanor Cross

What a glorious day. I went for a socially distanced picnic on a village green to meet with one of my cycling friends as we’d not met since before lockdown. Then such a nice day I added a rather big return loop to take in Geddington. If you’ve not met the Eleanor crosses, erected in the 13th century in memory of Eleanor of Castile - this is the best preserved. Charing Cross was originally one too. The figures in the niches are statues of Eleanor in Caen stone.
