The annual poppy extravaganza

I brought this poppy plant as a cutting from my parents' home about fifteen years ago. It has flowered every year and they seem to be larger each season, but I'm sure they are not. This one is about five inches in diameter.

This is the first flower and I expect there will be many more. I had to clear the overgrown vegetation which had been smothering it and sadly I hadn't noticed. I got there just in time a few days ago.
