Blue Tit (Cyanistes caeruleus)

Just another shot of the birds which visit the feeding station.  In winter we get lots of Tits (the same family as Chickadees if any Americans read this) of course at the moment they are spread out holding breeding territories.  I assume there is a nest as we are only ever seeing a single bird.  Once the eggs hatch things will change!

A very common bird which has had its ups and downs.  The numbers steadily increased from the mid 60s until the new millennium by which time there were about 4 times as many.  Since then there has been a decline but still about 2 ½ times the mid 60s population.
