Greens House
This is a local greenhouse where organic salad greens are grown. This guy watering the plants didn't seem too thrilled to do it, and this reminded me of one of the thankless, low-paying summertime jobs I took one year when I was a teacher. Back in my own salad days, I worked in a plant nursery thinking it was just a means to help pay for a trip abroad. I ended up really liking it. My favorite part of the job was watering the plants; I didn't have to deal with the temperamental cash register, the bromeliads didn't talk back, I loved the damp earthy smell of the greenhouse, and I believed the extra oxygen I was breathing made me feel more energetic. It really was so peaceful. Maybe it's time to consider giving up coffee and take up some daily greenhouse sniffing.
