Keeping the best until last

Our very own Japanese Maple. We planted this six years ago and for the first few years we were disappointed because it didn't colour as we had hoped. We thought we had bought a lemon or sold a pup, so to speak. However, we now know that it waits for all its cousins to peak and start to fade before it bursts into the most wonderful colours.
