31.1.13 czwartek Pottery kilns

These old kilns , situated just behind Porty prom, were used to make pottery, Buchan pottery, it was called. They finally stopped functioning in the early 70's and the business moved to Crieff where it stopped operating in 2000. Fortunately the kilns have been preserved , which gives people the chance to see evidence of the industry which once went on here.

The reason for writing the date today is because it is unusually palindromic. The day is in Polish because with Polish being the second language spoken in the UK I feel I should try to practice the few words I know!
