Really Sad Roses.......

Later, a year ago last winter, the maintenance  men cut the roses down, very harshly, and they came back with a huge, beautiful bloom of roses, so rich in color and number.
   This year, the roses weren't trimmed.    The bushes are really sad.....    the roses are small and  very low in numbers.  There are hardly any leaves on these bushes, as well!    I guess I am a believer now, Roses thrive on being pruned and cut back.......   they do very poorly when left to grow wild.  If I hadn't seen this I wouldn't have been a believer, even though last year I saw them bloom and do swell.   This year, they are sad and barely alive.
