Practice, practice...practice !!

It is so bloody ugly out there again today....raining, foggy, cold, damp....just not the kind of day i feel at all drawn out there!

The wonderful thing is that i have nothing out there to distract me...so once again i'm copying an image by Richard McKinley... whose work i greatly admire. i'm not finished yet, and it is a smaller piece than his...i'm also trying to copy it from the book i have...not this image! didn't think to look it up on his site before now!!! anyhow, i learn a little bit more each time i try to replicate what another artist has done!

It's not so much about technique, altho that is so important...it's all about seeing!!! we so often look at a scene, sometimes even when we're taking a photograph, and we don't really look at the details! and it's paying attention to the details (not of a little leaf or that...but more where is the light etc) that i'm practicing!
