After the rain

There has been some rain at long last, mostly overnight which has raised the river level just a bit, as marked by this flattish stone close the kingfisher nest.
A day spent out of routine as I began to watch The Twin, in the morning. Very satisfying, and has vindicated by choice of walking holiday to the Lofoten Islands.
Downing Street press conference reached new heights of bluster and false prolixity as the scientists and politicians began to grapple with the sense of public unease and lack of confidence in their handling of the situation.
Scotland’s leadership continues to excel in this poor field. And Sarah Smith’s (Bunty, love it) injudicious comment has caused an understandable and justifiable outrage from just the SNP but many others too.
Rather tasty, (blasta) supper involving Aunt Bessie crinkled chips, and that delicious white chocolate ice cream from Waitrose. I need to get more of the latter.
