Who says it's squirrel-proof?
We bought our squirrel-proof bird-feeder from the RSPB 3 years ago, and it's been the most squirrel-proof bird-feeder we've ever had. But those sharp little teeth are finally winning against the steel and plastic.
This invasive species has eliminated our native red squirrel in all but a few small areas, and is now wreaking havok on our beech woods where they strip the bark at this time of year, leaving dead and crippled trees.
I apologise to all you squirrel-lovers. They certainly are cute and very lucky to have a fluffy tail. A good example of the survival of the fittest.
