LOCK DOWN – DAY 57
Went on yet another mammoth walk today. 14.2 miles which took us four and a half hours.
Chosen this photo for my Blip today because Ann thinks I look really pretty sitting here in the buttercups at 'Craigentinny Golf Course'. We also walked around 'Portobello Golf Course' which means that we only have one more 'Edinburgh Golf Course' to walk on before the lock down restrictions are lifted........ the 'Royal Burgess Golf Course' over at Barton which will involve another mammoth walk.
Anyway even though I did a lot of 'on lead' walking I had lots and lots of run about time too. I got to run about at Arthur's Seat en-route to Craigentinny Golf Course and then once on Craigentinny Golf Course there were loads of pesky squirrels that needed chasing. At one point I had to chase three at once but Ann wasn't quick enough to photo me in super speedy chase mode they all ran up the same tree and I haven't learnt how to climb yet. Boohoo.
Next we walked along the beach from Seafield to Portobello and by then I was really hot so I spent quite a bit of time paddling in the sea. Portobello prom was pretty busy. The little van that sells the most delicious liver muffins for doggies had a massive queue so unfortunately I didn't get a doggie muffin today. Boohoo. All the cafes and pubs were open for takeaways though and it was like we weren't in lock down at all. Loads of people just sitting around eating and drinking. …..........And that's against the rules in Scotland!!!
Then it was off to Portobello Golf Course for a quick run about in the sunshine before heading to the 'Innocent Railway Path' for the return route home.
It was a bit scary at one point because I was running around off my lead and I spotted a group of 11 (yes 11, Ann counted them) teenage boys loitering by one of the seats near the path. I went zooming over to them to say hello but before I'd even got to them Ann shouted, 'Trixie come', so I had to go back to her. My recall is pretty good these day unless I'm chasing squirrels or bunnies. I got put back on my lead for a few mins because the boys were standing around smoking, who knows what, and shouting obscenities at anyone who passed by and Ann was really worried that if I went to say hello they'd capture me and hold me to ransom??!! These are the type of people that the police should be moving on. Not the elderly people out for a walk by themselves who just stop for a 5 mins sit down alone because they're a bit tired!
Quick 10 min walk through part of the Prestonfield Golf Course 'cos Ann was hoping to see the peacocks. Ever since we walked on Prestonfield Golf Course last week everyone has been asking if we saw the peacocks. We didn't. And we didn't see them today either.
Then it was back on my lead for the rest of the walk home. Very, very tired now but I'm such a lucky little collie pup to get taken on such mammoth walks.
PS – Ann has got the most massive blister on the side of her big toe. She's just wondering how you actually get a blister somewhere that you've not had a blister before, when you've been wearing the same shoes to walk in that you usually do? Can anyone enlighten her?
PPS – Weather app is telling us it's going to be 22c tomorrow so tomorrow will be all about chillaxing on the balcony!!!
