Life In Wales

An unexpected visitor

As Louis and I are both 'house bound' this week, we're literally only walking as far as the end of our road so that he can stretch his legs and have a 'pee pee'.

There's an old timber house at the end of the road which has been empty for years and is literally collapsing. It's a shame as it looks like at one time it was a really nice, cosy little place. I've kept meaning to blip it, but everytime I've taken a photo of it, I've not been happy with the results. The photos have never really done it justice, but I guess there isn't much you can do to it to make it look good. I just hoped for a picture with rustic charm, but it just doesn't happen.

So this morning I decided I'd give it another go - I'm sure neighbours will wonder what at earth I'm doing, and will probably be saying 'here's that mad woman with the white dog again', as I've stood in the same place to take the same photo on numerous occasions! But today I was determined to make a blip out of it. I'd been planning it last night and was playing around with a couple of previous shots to see how I could perhaps make it look interesting, and I even came up with a title. Evidence of Blip addicition I think!

I'd taken a couple of photos this morning and out of the blue, a black cat walked across a wooden beam that has been placed across the front door of the house. I got a shot of him and realised that he was going to jump through the broken window. Perfect! Except my camera took too long between the shots, and I missed the actual jump, but captured the tail end of him climbing in. If you look closely you'll see him.

So although it's not how I'd originally planned the blip, I'm pleased with the end result - I wonder what stories this house could tell?

In other news, Louis doesn't seem as bright as he did yesterday. He seems uncomfortable and fidgety, and isn't eating very much. He also felt quite hot to touch where his wound is, so I called the vet and he asked me to take him down so he could check him over. He took his temperature which was normal but said that his skin looks a little irritated, so to stop using the cleansing spray he'd given me. He applied a cream solution for exczema to help sooth it and told me to give him chicken instead of his normal food for the time being. So on the way home I stopped off at the supermarket to get him a ready roasted chicken and he's just eaten that and is now settled on the sofa again.

I've not eaten anything yet, so I think I'll go and have a piece of that chicken on a sandwich :-)
