Smokin' Toadstool, Blue Bell Hill
Went on another long walk with my brother today. We walked through Aylesford village up on to the North Downs via Kit's Coty, a ruined Early Neolithic chambered long barrow which sits high on a hill overlooking several miles of Kent countryside. It was another beautiful day with warm early morning sunshine but Kit's Coty itself is surrounded by iron railings and, despite it's great age and historical importance, is curiously unphotogenic! However, as we headed back downhill through a steep wooded pathway we spotted Luke's Birds, a collection of bird boxes and this rather garish but delightful smoking toadstool! I think the flash actually enhances this image and makes it look slightly otherworldly.
