Freshly hatched Small Tortoiseshell

Although these butterflies are common, I think they are magnificent and I was very happy to see this one in the garden today. Our garden is half wild and half cultivated so I always leave some nettles for their larvae in the flower beds, and some scabious, the butterflies love them.

Most of the weeding is done, and the vegetable plot is planted now so I am putting my feet up tonight and having a quiet read. Hope you are having a good weekend.
