Day 52 - New toy
With Level 2 restrictions now in place I thought I'd catch up on a few things that have been neglected over Lockdown. First stop - a new windscreen wiperblade. When I used my wipers to clear the early morning moisture on Thursday I noticed a straggly piece of rubber being dragged across the windscreen. Lucky we're having such good weather and I haven't needed them. I was a bit shocked to find that just one wiper blade cost almost $50 though. The last time I bought one must have been a l-o-n-g time ago.
Second stop was Animates to get some flea and worm treatment for Minnie. Whilst I was there I was introduced to this natty toy and scratch bed made purely from cardboard, which appeals to my green side immensely. It has a couple of coloured balls with bells in it, just a bit larger than the holes along the side so they can't be dragged out. It's turned out to be very popular puzzle with Minnie who has only left it alone this afternoon to eat and to sleep. I wonder if she'll tire of it before I tire of the jingling balls!?
Third stop was K-Mart where I was going to get some nice dishes for her food. Was going to......the ridiculously long queue to get into the shop was an instant put off so I headed instead to my....
...fourth stop - good ol' Bunnings to get some potting mix.
It felt a little odd to be out and shopping and I was greeted at the 3 different shops I went to with 3 totally different approaches to the physical distancing and contact tracing rules.......in one case, no evidence of any provisions for either requirement at all :( That's a bit worrying at this stage.
In positive COVID news though - zero cases again today with the active cases number falling 7 to 49. Very promising.
