Well my theory of traffic slowly increasing day by day has been blown to bits as I only saw 14 cars this morning. Perhaps employers need some time to get organised so let's see if it gets busier on Monday .

The Bentley continues to progress well as I masked up the dashboard again which takes an hour and a half and resprayed it with another layer of topcoat. I then started to flat back the rest of the car. When the topcoat on the dash had hardened sufficiently I rubbed it down and sprayed it with a lacquer coat as if I done now it would save masking it again later. All was going well until a tiny piece of white debris appeared from knowhere and got stuck to the lacquer coat right in the middle of the dash. Unfortunately that's the price that's paid when spraying outside. So I had to wait for the lacquer to dry sand it down respray with topcoat wait and reapply the lacquer. This was done through out the day whilst I continued to flat back the other panels. Mid afternoon I decided to lacquer coat the nearside bonnet which went reasonably well but I'm only ninety percent happy with the finish. However I've decided to leave it and carry on spraying lacquer to the rest of the car and at the end if I'm still not happy I can rub it down and do it again. During the day I also lacquered the headlight cowls and rims together with the sidelight rims. I am totally happy with the finish of these and on the next non spraying weather day I can fit the lenses/glasses.

Early evening we spoke to Ashley on WhatsApp. He's doing fine and happy that he can now add golf to his weekend activities of cycling running and walking.

I was going to carry on in the evening and sew the Bentley trim but having worked all day on the car it was easier to slob out and watch a film. The upholstery can be left for the next rainy day too.
